The Day the Sun Opened Above Me: My Awakening on the Jin Shin Jyutsu Table

The Ordinary Training Room
Spiritual awakenings rarely happen when you are actively hunting for them. They don't always wait for a mountain peak or a perfectly silent temple. Sometimes, they hit you in the middle of a classroom.
A while back, I was undergoing training for Jin Shin Jyutsu—an ancient Japanese art of harmonizing the body's life energy. As part of our practical evolutions, we worked in groups of three, taking turns lying on the table while the others practiced the energetic holds. It was a standard, disciplined hands-on learning environment.
Until it was my turn to lie down.
The Indigo River
As my group members began the gentle, targeted holds of the practice, the ambient noise of the room faded away. In my mind's eye, a cloud of vibrant indigo light began to form.
This wasn’t a faint flash or a trick of the imagination. It was thick, brilliant, and moving like liquid. It built up until it fully encompassed my entire internal view, swirling with a life of its own. It would subside for a moment, only to rush back just as vibrant as before. I was looking directly at the raw energy of my Third Eye chakra, fully activated by the subtle touch of my peers who were simply practicing the flow.
But the universe wasn’t done with me yet.
The Conic Light
As the session neared its end, the focus shifted to my upper energy pathways. That is when my crown chakra literally tore open.
Lying there on the table, it felt as though the actual sun had just broken through the roof and ignited right above my head. I could feel a physical, radiant warmth. In my mind’s eye, a brilliant light started as a tiny pinprick and rapidly widened into a massive, glowing cone. This divine light entered through the crown of my head and bathed all the way down my body as I lay there.
I wasn't just observing energy anymore; I was completely immersed in it. When I finally stood up from that table, I was a different man than when I lay down.
💡 The Spiritual Reality CheckYou don't need a traumatic event to awaken your spirit. Sometimes, when the body feels entirely safe, supported, and structurally aligned by ancient energetic arts—and backed by the collective focus of a group—the soul simply decides it is time to open the windows.
Trusting the Shift
That training evolution taught me that our bodies are holding onto vast oceans of untapped spiritual awareness. When we look at energy work with honor, discipline, and integrity, the results aren't just subtle shifts in mood—they are life-altering awakenings.
If you are waiting for your own light to turn on, stop chasing it. Create the space, support your body, and let the universe do the heavy lifting.
